Pratolungo

Pratolungo is very well-known for the orchads. The ancient part of the village stands around the small church of Saint Grato, the patron Saint of the hamlet.
The church is very ancient and it is mentioned in all the tourist giudes because it is a very nice building.
Inside it is kept a seventeenth-century altar-piece portraying the Saint Grato between the Virgin and the Saints, with the typical well in which falls the hail. In fact Saint Grato, is invoked to stop hail and thunderbolts.
The present built-up area is larger and extends towards the Riviera, reaching the Santuario della Madonna della Neve. Heart of the Sanctuary is the venerated Image of the Virgin, set into the wall behind the altar and framed by an imposing polychromatic wood structure in the style of a mantle adorned with angels and cherubs.
